Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

The basis on which we provide locksmith services and on which this website is made available.

These terms

These terms apply to locksmith services provided by Locksmith St Kilda Service of 158 Acland St, St Kilda VIC 3182, Australia, and to your use of this website.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Quotes and pricing

Prices are not published on this website because locksmith work varies genuinely with the door, the hardware, the property and the situation. Any figure given before attendance is an estimate based on the information you provide.

Where the work required differs from what was described, we will discuss the difference with you before proceeding. Additional work is not carried out without your agreement.

Availability and attendance

We do not guarantee arrival times or continuous availability. Availability is confirmed with you at the time of the call, and any timeframe given is an estimate made in good faith.

Where we are unable to attend, or where a job is outside the services we provide, we will tell you so that you can make other arrangements.

Authority to instruct and property access

By requesting work you confirm that you are the owner or occupier of the property, or that you are authorised by them to request the work. We may require evidence of this before proceeding, and we may decline to carry out work where we are not satisfied.

For rented properties, work may require the owner or managing agent to authorise it. For common property in a strata or owners corporation building, authorisation from the owners corporation or building manager is generally required.

Nature of locksmith work

Locksmith work is carried out with care, but some outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Non-destructive entry is always the aim; on some hardware it is not achievable, in which case replacement of the affected component may be the practical option. Where that is likely, we will tell you before proceeding.

Pre-existing conditions such as damaged doors, deteriorated frames, painted-over hardware or prior poor installations may affect what can be achieved and may need to be addressed by another trade.

Security limitations

No lock, hardware or arrangement makes a property completely secure, and we make no representation to that effect. Recommendations we provide are practical suggestions to improve the current arrangement, not guarantees against unauthorised entry, loss or damage.

Any assessment we provide is a practical locksmith opinion, not a formal security audit or certification.

Payment

Payment terms are confirmed at the time of engagement. Invoices are payable in accordance with those terms.

Title to any supplied hardware passes on payment in full.

Website content

Information on this website is general in nature and provided for guidance only. It does not constitute advice about a specific property or situation, and it should not be relied on as such.

We deliberately do not publish information about opening, bypassing or defeating locks or security hardware.

We do not publish trading hours on this site. Current availability for any particular job is confirmed when you call.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute.
